Comprehensive Reconstruction

Comprehensive reconstruction, also referred to as full mouth reconstruction, is performed by Pedro Mora-Rosa, DDS for patients saddled by severe trauma, disease and/or infection to the oral cavity. This procedure involves a series of dental treatments for smile restoration. Comprehensive reconstruction begins with an initial consultation. This initial appointment addresses your dental concerns in terms of aesthetics, health and functionality while also detailing treatment goals. The dentist will pose questions about your dental health as well as your general health, setting the stage for comprehensive reconstruction.

X-rays of the oral cavity are taken prior to the start of the comprehensive reconstruction. These images make it that much easier to view sections of the mouth that the eye cannot see. The next step is to create a digital portrayal of the desired smile. The three-dimensional model of the teeth is used to perform the comprehensive reconstruction. This reconstruction is performed with a series of procedures ranging from orthodontic treatments to root canal therapy, periodontal treatment, the removal of infected or damaged teeth, the placement of dental crowns, the application of veneers and beyond.

Additional comprehensive reconstruction options include the fusion of dental implants to the jaw bone, corrective jaw surgery, TMJ treatment and implant-supported dentures. The reconstruction occurs across several stages meaning you will return to our office for at least a couple appointments. We will space out the treatments and procedures so your mouth has sufficient time to heal.
